Sanya Malhotra is an Indian actress who made her debut with the 2014 film Dangal. She has since appeared in the films Badhaai Ho and Photograph.
Early life and background
Sanya Malhotra was born on 25 February 1992 in Delhi, India. She did her schooling from Mata Jai Kaur Public School, Ashok Vihar and then graduated from Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi. After that, she went on to study mass communication from the Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication, Pune.
Malhotra started her career as a background dancer in the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. She was then selected for the lead role in the Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal after going through a series of auditions.
Malhotra made her acting debut with the 2016 sports biopic Dangal, in which she played the role of Babita Kumari, a wrestler. The film was a critical and commercial success, and Malhotra’s performance was praised by critics. She then appeared in the 2018 comedy Badhaai Ho, in which she played the role of a young woman who gets pregnant out of wedlock.
