He has two sisters, Madhu and Neelu, and a brother, Raju. He did his schooling from St. Xavier’s School, Delhi. He graduated from Hansraj College, Delhi University. He is married to Shivangi Kapoor and has two children, Siddhanth Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
Kapoor made his debut in the film Kalicharan (1976). He went on to do supporting roles in films like Rocky (1981), Coolie (1983), Hero (1983), Andar Baahar (1984), and Tanbadan (1984).
